Lambda Alpha Zeta - History
Lambda Alpha Zeta Chapter was chartered in Seattle in September 21, 1981. The five charter members were Frances Cal, Lena Hayes, Odell Jones, Wilhelmina Patterson, and Ernestine Turner. These graduate members formed our second chapter in Washington, and our second Graduate Chapter.
On April 24, 1983, two undergraduate women attending the University of Washington, Sherry
Cal and Anita Johnson, were initiated as Associate members of the Lambda Alpha Zeta Chapter. Lambda Alpha Zeta Chapter sponsored the first city undergraduate chapter in the state. Kappa Nu Chapter was chartered in May of 1986 with a membership of five women who attended the University of Washington. The chartering members were Anita Cal, Daria Cal, Patricia Coutee, Phyllis Cravens, and Patricia Gomez.
